Working with the public is always interesting, and regularly rewarding. Often it's those 'special requests' that leave a lasting impression with businesses (in the best possible way).

Begg Shoes

People buy laces at Begg shoes all the time but it isn't always just to keep their shoes on. Earlier in the autumn a gentleman popped in to request some laces.

When asked what length of laces were required he said it didn’t matter, it was for conkers for the grandchildren. How lovely.

Perth Trophy Shop

Over their first year, Perth trophy shop were asked to cater to a few special requests. This has led to Perth Trophy Shop engraving more than a few interesting items. Their most common requests for engraving work are still shields, trophies, and medals but a few objects really stood out.

Perth Trophy shop explained that so far they have been asked to engrave an Urn, an axe, a hammer (for someone’s new wife, apparently), and also two shells from the Falklands War.

It's a pretty diverse list but given the growing facilities, they have for engraving work we have a feeling Perth Trophy Shop's list of unusual engraved objects is just getting started.

T. Paterson Jeweller

T. Paterson Jeweller are often asked to create ‘unusual items’. They have a team of in-house jewellery designers after all and can manufacture on site as well. This means that they're in a great position to handle special requests.

One particular request stood out when we asked them. It was a scale model of a mini which they crafted in silver and enamelled to match the client’s daughter’s beloved car perfectly. It was a unique piece and a beautiful gift. One they were happy to create for her.

Greyson’s Wine Cafe

This might be our favourite 'special request' story. Grayson's Wine Cafe has a loyal group of regular patrons. In September one of these patrons came to Grayson’s with a special request; they had chosen to take their partner out to their favourite place and do something very special.

Grayson's could hardly turn down the chance to be part of a surprise wedding proposal and they were more than happy to help coordinate this special event.

Grayson's staff were delighted to be involved in something so personal with two of their regulars. The night came, the atmosphere was set, and the staff did everything they could to stay straight-faced as she walked in the door.

They had their meal and the moment came. We are happy to say that she said yes.
