Let your hair down in the run up to Christmas
Tuesday, 27th November
The run-up to Christmas can leave you run off your feet. That's why it's important to find an excuse to get out and let your hair down a little. Perth has loads on to keep you occupied over the festive period. There's too much to fit into one blog post so we thought you might be interested in this wee selection of events hosted by some local independent businesses.
Grayson’s Wine Cafe
Grayson’s Wine Cafe launched a food and wine night in September and it was so popular (tickets sold out within two hours) that they’ve decided to make it a regular event. There are food and wine nights planned for Thursday 6th December (NOW SOLD OUT), Thursday 13th December, and another on Thursday 20th December (NOW SOLD OUT). It’s safe to say that they’ve been a runaway success.
They also have a popular ‘bring your own vinyl’ night (they have a three-speed vinyl deck available to use). The next event is scheduled for December and we can imagine there will be a fair few Christmas classics shared at that one. The date has yet to be confirmed, you can check their Facebook page for more details.
It goes without saying but Grayson’s December food and wine nights will be Christmas themed and a lovely opportunity to let your hair down). On top of all that Grayson’s Wine Cafe is also available for private hire (for parties etc.).
Big Dog Books
Big Dog books has a few things to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas. However, if you would like a change from the sparkle and tinsel then you can’t have much more fun than delving into mysterious and magical worlds, fighting dragons in dungeons, or simply battling with your latest Pokemon deck. Big Dog books always has something on for those with a thirst for adventure (and a good coffee). Check out their Facebook page for more details.
Also, they’ll be hosting a Christmas/New Year edition of their amazing Graphic Novel Book Club or 'Bark Club'. It’s a perfect time to pop in if you haven’t attended before as they’ll use this event to discuss all the graphic novels they’ve covered that year. This should be a great opportunity to get caught up in what the book club does and see what there might be to expect in the coming year.
Over on their Facebook page you'll also find regular 'special products' features, which is definitely worth tuning in to.
Charlie Taylor Hair & Beauty
Now here's an event when you can really let your hair down, or style it up, or change colour. To be honest there seems to be a product for every option. Charlie Taylor will once again hold their 'Xmas Sparkle night'; an annual charity Christmas shopping evening. This event offers clients the opportunity to speak directly to suppliers. Attendees can enjoy product and service demonstrations, try their ‘pop up’ shops, and peruse all their brilliant Christmas gift ideas. What’s more, you could take part in their fantastic charity Christmas raffle. All of this and you also get a glass of fizz and some canapes to enjoy. A pretty glamorous evening if we do say so! Fun Junction
This year Fun Junction has chosen to put together a series of events to coincide with their late-night shopping events on Thursdays. The theme varies but will include author visits and a pet portraiture artist. If you would like to know more specifics about their events you can find out more on their Facebook page.
