A finger on the pulse of Perth for almost two centuries: T. Paterson Jeweller
Tuesday, 6th November
T. Paterson Jeweller began as a watchmaker back in 1832. It was the beginning of the industrial revolution and time (and the measurement of time) was becoming a valuable commodity. If you couldn't keep time you were in trouble. It became clear that watches and clocks were of greater importance than they had ever been. Unfortunately, innovation hadn't caught up with demand and clocks and watches lacked the quartz precision and the steady battery power that they have now. In 1832 an accurate timepiece took a lot of work. This meant that T. Patterson was a very busy place. Offering regular watch and clock maintenance, they kept the pulse of Perth's industrial revolution going.
T. Paterson Jeweller spent their first few years further down the High Street (closer to where Boots is now), but it moved fairly soon after and has been in its current location for over a century. In 2017 they expanded their store to almost four times its original size. However, they went to great lengths to design a frontage that preserves the original style of the old shop. A frontage that looks as though it has been there for as long as they have. Tradition is important to them but they aren't afraid to move forward either.
The future is sparkling
Times have changed dramatically since its beginning but T. Paterson Jeweller still offers watch and clock repairs (in fact they are in such high demand that they have found themselves offering their services to people as far afield as Kinloch Rannoch and even Inverness). However, the business has expanded over the years to include other related products and services. This includes an extensive range of jewellery, including a selection of pieces which are designed and manufactured in-house.
Alongside their jewellery design service, T. Paterson Jeweller also offers a remodelling service. Their remodelling service allows clients to enjoy heirloom jewellery in new ways. Sometimes it will be as simple as reshaping a piece for modern needs (or even simply resizing). However, they can also offer a more bespoke service thanks to their in-house jewellery designers.
Here you could have heirloom stones reset into a new piece. One that is beautiful to wear but that, nonetheless, incorporates something with considerable sentimental value into the design. Whatever your needs, T. Paterson Jeweller's team of designers are on hand to walk you through the process at every step, sensitive to the importance that your heirloom jewellery has for you.
