Shop Local: Share the Love

You’ve probably heard this before but shopping local really is better for the local economy. Your spend adds to the success of local businesses but their success can spread further. In short shop local, share the love.

A healthy customer base means that a business can make plans for the future. It makes them more stable and this stability makes them more equipped to invest in their business. This isn't just good news for an individual business. When they reinvest, this often takes the form of staff training, the purchase of new equipment, or site improvements. This is where the local feedback loop kicks in.

Businesses can shop local too. Staff training can take place at Perth College or other local training organisations. Site improvements can be performed by any of a number of skilled and experienced local tradespeople. Where appropriate, even new equipment could be sourced from a local supplier. When this starts to happen we see even more money invested in the local economy. The city literally investing in itself.

Your support allows businesses to diversify what they can offer. It allows those businesses to support other local businesses. What's more, as an added bonus, if you are a regular customer then your favourite local business will have all the more reason to make sure that those improvements will be relevant to you. Your spend makes every local business better, it makes it easy for Perth to share the love.

A makeover for the Giraffe

Giraffe Cafe in South Street is preparing for the spring/summer with a few changes. There are structural changes, decorative changes, and even some tweaks to their menu on the horizon. […]

A few new good ‘points’ about 63 Tay Street

63 Tay Street is now entering its 13th year. This local, family-owned restaurant is described by chef proprietor Graeme Pallister as ‘eclectic Scottish’. Their food is expertly prepared to ensure that the (all local) ingredients speak for themselves. 63 Tay Street strongly value the honesty of this approach as it allows them to demonstrate just […]
